How much does a website cost in Toronto?

A practical way to think about scope, budget and what your website investment actually includes.

A website quote is a proposal for a particular amount of work. Two quotes can look similar and include very different things. Before comparing the final number, compare the decisions and deliverables behind it.

At Superconnected, proposed website plans start at $299 CAD per month with a twelve-month initial term. The build and a defined level of ongoing care are included. Growth is $499 and Established is $899 per month. These are our proposed packages, not an industry average; compare the full commitment and ongoing scope, not just the monthly figure.

Start with the job your website needs to do

A focused campaign page has a different job from a service business website. A booking portal is different again. Write down the main action a visitor should take: call, request a quote, book an appointment, or complete a task.

Then list the pages needed to support that action. A useful list might include a homepage, three service pages, an about page, and a contact page. That gives a studio something concrete to price.

What changes the scope?

  • Content: Existing, approved copy is different from researching and writing every page.
  • Design: A reusable page pattern takes less work than many unique layouts.
  • Functionality: Booking, payments, accounts and integrations add work beyond the visible interface.
  • Migration: Moving existing pages, redirects and content needs careful planning.
  • Editing: A content management system needs configuration, testing and a handover.

Ask which of these are included. A lower quote can be a good fit when its boundaries match what you actually need.

Separate the build from ongoing costs

The initial project price is only part of the picture. Domain registration, hosting, paid software, maintenance and future content changes may be separate. Ask who owns each account and who pays for renewals.

You should also understand how changes are priced. An agreed approval process helps both sides distinguish refinement from a new requirement.

Give your budget a purpose

Instead of asking for the most pages your budget can buy, ask which pages and improvements deserve the investment first. A smaller, clearer site can be more useful than a larger one with unfinished content.

A good proposal should make the scope understandable: what you will receive, what you will provide, when decisions are needed, and how the project will be handed over.
